About The Founder

Hey Guys, My Name is Mudia!

Welcome to MudiaCaters® where you get to go on a journey with me to good health. As a Naija babe (Nigerian) who has struggled with obesity my entire life, I have finally reached the point where enough is actually enough.

Maybe similar to you, I tried every diet created by man, and still no results. It was like taking one step forward only to take five steps back. Weight loss became a stronghold.

So you might ask, what has changed? Well...I'm doing what I know how to do best: try again. However, this time, I am taking you with me. We are going to do this together until we reach our health goals.

I'm the voice, author, and creator behind MudiaCaters®. One thing about me is Food Is Life — especially African food. I cannot stop eating it. But! This time we are focusing on Moderation, not Restriction.

A little bit about me, I was born in Lagos, Nigeria but currently reside in Indianapolis, IN. My passion for food has evolved since I was a little girl. I have a Bachelor of Science in Food Science from Purdue University and a Master of Food Technology from the University of Georgia.

If you can relate to my story, then you are in the right place!

The Issue

When aiming for weight loss, it's often overlooked that African cuisine can support this goal. African food is often misunderstood as unhealthy. Many assume they need to eliminate it and only eat salads and fruits, but this unsustainable approach can hinder weight loss progress.

My 6-Month Progress

In April 2024, I committed to stop making excuses and take charge of my health. I decided it was time to try again, and I am truly grateful that I didn’t give up. Reflecting on my last brand photos taken in June 2024 (picture on the right), I realized that I wasn’t satisfied with my appearance, which fueled my motivation to lose weight. As of this December, I am thrilled to share that I’ve lost 20 pounds! I’m incredibly proud of my progress and excited to continue working towards my ultimate goal.
